I was looking for the Prevention of Corruption Act for some research purposes. My first hit on Google.com returned me a 404 error on icac.mu. That is not beautiful, especially since it appears as the topmost result. It made me search further and I wondered who designed the Independent Commission Against Corruption’s website.
Next I noticed that the website runs on WordPress 4.2.2 and Nginx. That’s strange, why not on the Government sharepoint? Hmm… Made me think whether icac.mu could be on a shared server selling nail varnish.
I made a reverse IP domain check and found that icac.mu runs alongside al.mu. I visited the latter and it turned out to be the same as eruption.mu. Oh, wait, that came in the news recently regarding defaced websites.
|In the footer of icac.mu, it’s written “Powered by Eruption”. Hmm… That line is usually “Powered by WordPress||Theme by Some Company”. The WordPress theme used is Avada by Theme Forest but there is no credit mention, maybe an extended license was used.|

ICAC acknowledged my email. I was assured that the feedback I provided will be taken into consideration. I thanked the officer for his reply.
